Service Partners, based near Richmond, VA, is North America's largest distributor of residential fiberglass insulation and related contractor accessories, serving thousands of contractors through a nationwide distribution network. The company was struggling with tape-based backups that routinely exceeded its backup window (running more than 12 hours), were time‑consuming to manage, and limited retention and disaster‑recovery capabilities.

Service Partners implemented ExaGrid with Symantec Backup Exec, using ExaGrid’s GRID architecture and post‑process data deduplication to replace tape. Backups dropped from 12 to 7 hours, deduplication reached as high as 28:1 (storing 70+ TB in 9.7 TB), disaster‑recovery time fell from 60 to 12 hours with multiple simultaneous restores, replication became far more efficient, and daily backup administration fell from about an hour to five minutes.
