A ExaGrid Case Study
The North Kingstown School Department, a K-12 district in Rhode Island, faced major backup challenges as they outgrew their tape library. Their full backups were taking over 30 hours, causing network slowdowns, and required excessive management time. They sought a new solution that could integrate with their existing Veritas Backup Exec software and provide data deduplication, leading them to the ExaGrid system.
ExaGrid implemented its disk-based Tiered Backup Storage with Adaptive Deduplication. The solution integrated seamlessly, was set up in about 20 minutes, and worked with the district's existing backup application and tape library. As a result, full backup times were reduced from 30 hours to just 3 hours, and weekly management time dropped from 5 hours to 30 minutes. ExaGrid's scalable solution and dedicated support also provided a path for future disaster recovery and ensured reliable, automated backups.
