Nammo Talley Slashes Backup Window by Two-Thirds with ExaGrid’s Disk-Based Backup with Deduplication

Nammo Talley, a long-established manufacturer of energetics and defense components, was backing up nearly 1.8 TB weekly and performing full weekend backups that began spilling into the workweek. Tape-based backups and slow restores threatened business continuity, so the IT team looked for a disk-based alternative that integrated with their existing Symantec Backup Exec and offered strong deduplication.

They deployed ExaGrid’s disk-based backup with post-process, byte-level deduplication, which reduced stored data and allowed faster direct-to-disk writes. As a result, full backups dropped from three days to one (a two‑thirds reduction), restores became almost instantaneous, the system was simple to install and support was responsive, and the solution remains easily scalable for future growth.
