Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration cuts backup windows by 2 hours with ExaGrid

The Mississippi Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) faced slow backup performance and lengthy restore times with its previous Dell EMC Data Domain system. The department needed a new backup storage solution that would integrate with its Veeam software, shorten its backup window, and accelerate data recovery. They selected the ExaGrid Tiered Backup Storage system to address these challenges.

ExaGrid implemented its system featuring a disk-cache Landing Zone, which keeps the most recent backup in a full, undeduplicated state for quick restores. The solution reduced the nightly backup window by two and a half hours and delivered very quick restore times. The Mississippi DFA found the ExaGrid system reliable and easy to manage, allowing IT staff to focus on other tasks with confidence in their backup storage.
