Metropolitan National Bank, a $550M regional bank with 12 branches in southwest Missouri, struggled with outdated tape hardware and poorly configured backup jobs that left backups failing nightly—often completing only 20–30% of data and running about 16 hours per day, which caused network congestion and heavy administrative overhead.

The bank deployed an ExaGrid disk-based backup appliance with data deduplication alongside Symantec Backup Exec; installation took under an hour and was as simple as repointing backup jobs.
