Jordan’s Furniture Chooses Veeam and ExaGrid over EMC for Faster, More Efficient Backups and Recoveries

Jordan’s Furniture, a New England retailer with six stores, a large distribution center and headquarters in Taunton, MA, had virtualized most of its infrastructure and faced rapid data growth and capacity limits with its EMC Avamar backup system. Needing faster recoveries and a more DR-ready, virtualization-focused solution, the company evaluated alternatives while already using ExaGrid for physical-server backups.

Jordan’s deployed Veeam Backup & Replication for virtual workloads and expanded ExaGrid for disk-based backup and two-site replication. The tightly integrated solution enables nightly synthetic fulls, “set-and-forget” administration, Instant VM Recovery that let Jordan’s thin out retained VMs, painless GRID scalability, and faster restores (recoveries now take about a quarter of the time they did with Avamar), all at lower cost and with strong support.
