The Jel Sert Company, a long-established food and beverage manufacturer, needed to modernize its backup strategy after relying on tape-based backups and an aging vRanger solution while virtualizing its environment. The challenge was to find a reliable, long-term backup and DR approach that would shorten backup windows, speed restores, and reduce dependence on tape.

Jel Sert deployed ExaGrid appliances at its headquarters and DR site and migrated backups to Veeam, using ExaGrid’s disk-based landing zone and adaptive deduplication. The combination cut weekday tape use, delivered daily incrementals in about 20 minutes and full backups in roughly two hours, enabled file restores in under a minute and server recoveries in minutes, and provided seamless offsite replication plus dedicated support.
