A ExaGrid Case Study
Howard S. Wright Construction Co., a Seattle-based commercial, institutional and industrial builder founded in 1885 with offices across the West, was struggling with slow, unreliable tape backups. IT staff faced long backup windows, corrupt or missing tapes and limited retention, which made restores time-consuming and uncertain.
The company deployed an ExaGrid disk-based backup appliance with post-process deduplication alongside Symantec Backup Exec, gaining faster, reliable disk backups and easy restores. Backups dropped from about 30 hours to six hours, retention increased from one month to four months, and the solution proved easy to install, scalable for future growth and reduced tape costs and staff time.
