Global Aerospace Replaces Aging Dell EMC Data Domain with Highly Scalable ExaGrid System

Global Aerospace, a London-based aerospace insurer, faced an urgent storage challenge when its Dell EMC Data Domain system reached end of life and ran out of capacity. The IT team needed a replacement that would work with their existing backup applications (Veritas Backup Exec and Veeam) and provide an easily expandable, cost-effective alternative—so they evaluated and selected ExaGrid for its integration and modular architecture.

Global Aerospace deployed ExaGrid at both primary and secondary sites, using ExaGrid’s disk landing zone and adaptive deduplication to speed backups and enable parallel deduplication and replication. The result was shorter, more reliable backup windows (several hours shorter on their largest job), simplified management, easy scale-out by adding appliances, and improved disaster-recovery capabilities while retaining support for their existing backup software.
