Farmers Telephone Cooperative scales backup 3x and cuts data 12:1 with ExaGrid

Farmers Telephone Cooperative (FTC) faced a significant challenge after virtualizing its environment, as its legacy backup system could not handle the resulting data growth. Backup jobs were taking up to 24 hours, and tape management was inefficient. To solve this, FTC replaced its backup application with Veeam and sought a disk-based backup storage solution, ultimately selecting ExaGrid due to its high level of integration with Veeam.

The implemented ExaGrid system provided FTC with scalable, high-performance backup storage. The solution achieved a 12:1 data deduplication ratio, drastically reducing its storage footprint. This allowed FTC to easily scale from two appliances to six, supporting continued data growth and enabling the eventual elimination of tape. The company also praised ExaGrid for its simple interface and top-notch, proactive customer support.
