Genesee Community College (GCC), a SUNY institution serving over 5,000 students across seven locations in upstate New York, faced costly, slow tape-based backups and growing data volumes that strained restore times and backup windows. The IT team needed a more manageable, scalable solution that would reduce restore times and support both physical and virtual environments.

GCC replaced tape with an ExaGrid scale-out disk system (now seven appliances) that integrates with Veritas Backup Exec and Veeam and includes an offsite DR appliance.
