A ExaGrid Case Study
Concur, a global leader in travel and expense management, was struggling as its disk-based backup appliance hit capacity: backups and restores slowed dramatically due to inline deduplication, retention was limited (only three consecutive days), and the team began reverting to tape because the system couldn’t scale with growing data volumes.
Concur replaced the appliance with ExaGrid’s disk-based system featuring a landing-zone plus post-process, zone-level deduplication, which enabled immediate access for fast restores and faster backups. The solution stores over 1 PB of data in 80 TB of disk with typical dedupe of 10:1–50:1, is easy to manage, scales without forklift upgrades, and offers built-in replication plans—helping Concur improve performance, reduce storage needs, and move away from tape.
