Credit Union Uses ExaGrid with Veeam for Enhanced Deduplication

Associated Credit Union (ACU), one of Georgia’s oldest member-owned financial institutions, needed better backup efficiency for a 99% virtualized environment. After unsatisfactory deduplication with Veritas Backup Exec, ACU sought a solution that would shrink storage needs, keep backup windows short, and provide reliable offsite disaster recovery.

ACU implemented Veeam with an ExaGrid disk landing zone, combining Veeam’s per-job deduplication and compression with ExaGrid’s additional dedupe and scale-out architecture. The pairing delivers roughly 6:1 to 10:1 combined deduplication, weekly full backups that complete in about eight hours, one-year retention with DR replication, easier management across sites, and responsive vendor support.
