Charter Oak State College, a regionally accredited institution serving adult learners, faced growing data volumes that strained its SAN-based backup strategy. Charter Oak chose an ExaGrid GRID system over EMC Avamar for lower cost and scalable “set-it-and-forget-it” operation; the single-site deployment integrates with Dell vRanger, delivers post-process deduplication of nearly 14:1, and writes backups directly to disk for faster restores.
