BI Incorporated Monitors Faster Backups and Restores with ExaGrid

BI Incorporated, a Boulder-based provider of offender monitoring and community supervision services to over 1,000 government agencies, was struggling with a failing tape library, slow and incomplete backups, high media and offsite storage costs, and time-consuming restores that strained IT resources.

BI replaced tape with ExaGrid’s disk-based, post-process deduplication system (integrated with EMC NetWorker), delivering much faster backups and restores for 75 servers, dramatically reducing restore times from hours to minutes, and cutting storage and offsite costs. A second ExaGrid system now replicates only byte-level changes between sites for efficient disaster recovery and scalable capacity growth.
