Analytic Services Reduces Dependence on Tape and Implements a Better Disaster Recovery Solution with ExaGrid

Analytic Services (ANSER) is a not-for-profit public service institute that supports national security and public safety decision-makers. As ANSER’s data volumes grew, weekly offsite tape management and the cost of replacing tapes and drives made backups increasingly cumbersome and unreliable, leaving the organization in need of a better disaster recovery strategy.

ANSER deployed a two-site ExaGrid disk-based backup solution (integrated with Symantec Backup Exec) with automatic replication to an offsite ExaGrid and zone-level deduplication. The new system eliminated the reliance on tape, made restores far easier and faster, reduced time and costs, and was simple to install with strong customer support.
