Case Study: All Star International achieves faster backups and improved disaster recovery with ExaGrid

A ExaGrid Case Study

Preview of the All Star International Case Study

All Star International Relies on ExaGrid for Faster Backups, Improved Disaster Recovery

All Star International, a WSI subsidiary with about 1,200 employees and roughly $200M in annual sales, operates global facilities and logistics services. The IT team was struggling with slow, tape-based backups that routinely exceeded the backup window and made restores slow and cumbersome, so the company evaluated disk-based alternatives and chose ExaGrid for its deduplication, scalability, price and performance.

All Star deployed a two-site ExaGrid system that works with their existing Symantec Backup Exec and automatically replicates nightly for disaster recovery. Because ExaGrid writes to disk and performs post-process deduplication, backups now finish within the window, restores are fast, deduplication averages about 27:1 with ~27TB immediately available, and the solution provides easy scalability and strong vendor support.
