A ExaGrid Case Study
7-Eleven Stores, a privately held convenience store operator in Oklahoma City, needed to simplify nightly backups and protect rapidly growing data after installing a new inventory system. The company wanted to move away from tape and disk backups to a single, disk-based solution that would reduce backup time, automate processes, and support PCI compliance. It chose ExaGrid and its backup solution alongside Symantec NetBackup.
ExaGrid implemented a two-site disk-based backup system with replication between datacenters for disaster recovery. The result was a “set it and forget it” backup process that was easy to install and manage, improved data security, and made PCI auditing easier. ExaGrid also delivered data deduplication rates of up to 30:1, leaving 7-Eleven with ample disk capacity for future growth and significantly less backup hassle.
