Case Study: EDP Brazil achieves large-scale employee-driven innovation and 27 implemented ideas with Exago

A Exago Case Study

Preview of the EDP Brazil Case Study

Ideas, culture and innovation for a more dynamic and efficient company

EDP Brazil, the Brazilian affiliate of Portuguese EDP with 2,600 targeted employees, wanted to open innovation across the organization using a “Wisdom of the Crowds” approach to capture ideas on innovation, sustainability and efficiency. To systematize idea generation, collaborative evaluation and recurring challenge launches, EDP Brazil selected Exago and its Exago Market platform to support the program.

Exago implemented Exago Market — a stock‑market‑style idea platform with virtual credits, commenting, investment voting and incentives — plus consulting to manage challenges and the evaluation process. Launched summer 2010, the solution drove strong engagement (25% active participation by the third challenge), produced ~485 submitted ideas by November 2011 with 128 reaching the final stage, 89 approved by the Innovation Team and 27 implemented (including a “Low income guide” that improved customer satisfaction and reduced defaults). Exago’s platform enabled broad, low‑risk assessment of many ideas and measurable operational impact.
