UBS, the largest bank in Switzerland and a global leader in private wealth management, needed to make its financial advisors quickly accessible to clients while complying with strict industry security standards. exadel was engaged to build a Customer-to-financial advisor mobile solution — the FA Mobile iOS app — to deliver secure, on-the-go access to customer accounts and financial information.

exadel implemented the FA Mobile app by integrating with UBS’s internal subsystems, moving from a remote-desktop approach to managing the web application via HTML/JavaScript in an iOS web viewer and adding stronger security controls. The app ties into corporate email and shared drives, supports offline document downloads and internal RSS feeds, and uses technologies like iOS SDK and sqlcipher. As a result, several thousand globally distributed financial advisors are now plugged into a single knowledge network, improving speed of access, client service and streamlining data collection and documentation.
