The Thompson School District - Customer Case Study

Thompson School District, a large Colorado district with more than 30 school buildings and thousands of students and staff, struggled for years with unreliable VCRs, DVRs and cumbersome video management systems. Seeking an easy-to-install, cross-platform IP video solution that would scale as they added cameras and accommodate a large Mac user base, the district selected Exacq Technologies and its exacqVision VMS and server appliances.

Exacq Technologies deployed exacqVision server software and webserver across 13 IP camera servers and 2 hybrid servers with 52 TB total storage, supporting 144 Axis network cameras (including 30 HD cameras) across 34 sites. The exacqVision system simplified installation and exporting, provided Mac and Windows clients plus mobile access, enabled positive ID from high‑definition video, and produced measurable benefits: migration to IP video, fewer incidents and insurance claims, reduced evening monitoring needs, and faster police access to precise footage.
