Potomac Boat Club - Customer Case Study

Potomac Boat Club, a nonprofit waterfront rowing club in Washington, D.C. with 300+ members and a historic boathouse, faced repeated break‑ins and thefts but lacked resources for full‑time guards. The club’s security committee worked with integrator Urban Alarm and selected a surveillance solution built around Exacq Technologies’ exacqVision Start VMS software to monitor the clubhouse, boats, parking lot and perimeter.

Urban Alarm installed 12 ACTi IP cameras, a dealer‑built NVR running exacqVision Start, and enabled remote access via the Exacq Mobile app and website streaming so board members can view and search live and recorded video 24/7. The Exacq Technologies solution improved situational awareness, allowed quick post‑storm checks, and enabled exportable video that identified and helped prosecute a vandal in at least one incident—resulting in reduced crime and better protection of club property.
