The North Carolina Department of Corrections, responsible for roughly 40,000 inmates and a large statewide staff, faced aging DVRs and needed a video management solution that would integrate existing analog cameras, provide a migration path to megapixel IP cameras, and be intuitive for control-room staff. Exacq Technologies was chosen to deliver its exacqVision Hybrid Video Management System to maximize safety, streamline incident investigations, and support evidence handling.

Exacq Technologies deployed 60 exacqVision Hybrid servers with RAID5 storage and client software on control-room PCs, connecting more than 1,600 analog and 300+ IP cameras over fiber and Ethernet switches. The system lets staff quickly search recorded video, export footage to DVD/USB for police, and monitor inmate behavior—resulting in improved incident identification and suspect apprehension, better protection for staff and inmates, and a measurable reduction in repeat offenses through usable video evidence.
