Case Study: National Aquarium achieves reliable hybrid surveillance and enhanced visitor & animal safety with Exacq Technologies exacqVision

A Exacq Technologies Case Study

Preview of the National Aquarium Case Study

National Aquarium - Customer Case Study

The National Aquarium in Baltimore, which educates more than 1.8 million annual visitors and cares for over 16,000 animals, faced repeated failures of PC‑based DVRs and video input cards that left analog cameras unreliable and raised concerns for visitor and animal safety. To modernize surveillance while retaining existing analog infrastructure and adding new IP cameras, the Aquarium evaluated an upgraded VMS solution from Exacq Technologies, selecting the exacqVision A‑Series hybrid server and exacqVision VMS software.

Earth Security implemented the Exacq Technologies exacqVision hybrid solution to integrate analog and IP cameras, deploy exacqVision client software across workstations, and centrally manage user permissions. The Exacq Technologies system immediately improved incident response with real‑time alerts, let departments view targeted feeds remotely, and stored more video using nearly half the space of the old system; it also provides night‑time animal monitoring for staff research and daily operational benefits.
