Montana State Hospital, Montana’s only public psychiatric hospital with 174 licensed beds, needed a reliable way to monitor patient behavior and maintain safety for patients, staff and visitors across its campus. To address that challenge, Exacq Technologies’ exacqVision video management software (VMS) was selected to provide continuous video monitoring and incident review.

Exacq Technologies’ exacqVision VMS was deployed on three commercial servers with client software on an administration PC and six nurse stations, supporting more than 130 IP cameras across the Main building and Spratt building (networked via fiber and PoE switches); Studio AV, Inc. handled design and installation. The system lets staff quickly locate and export video to DVD or USB to investigate incidents, and has made patient care more efficient—staff report greater safety and administrators report increased peace of mind and improved ability to document and resolve events.
