Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, the state’s oldest and largest health plan with eight locations and about 3,700 employees, needed a more cost-effective, scalable video surveillance solution to protect people, assets and information across its multi-building campus. Facing aging DVRs, more than 100 analog cameras and lengthy review times, the organization selected Exacq Technologies and its exacqVision product family (A-Series hybrid servers, Z-Series IP server and exacqVision Enterprise VMS) to modernize recording, monitoring and access control integration.

Exacq Technologies deployed exacqVision hybrid/IP servers and Enterprise software with Health Manager, integrating existing analog and IP cameras, LDAP authentication, multi-monitor clients, layered mapping and mobile access. The solution provided one NVR per location, H.264 compression to save bandwidth/storage, and easier administration so staff needed minimal training. As a result, Blue Cross improved live monitoring and historical review, reduced post-incident review time, increased security response speeds, and gained higher-quality evidence and proactive health alerts to prevent video loss.
