A Exabeam Case Study

Helping Jupiter Telecommunications Fight Internal Fraud Across a Dispersed Environment

Jupiter Telecommunications (J:COM), Japan’s largest cable TV provider, faced growing security complexity after acquiring multiple companies with varying security postures. With millions of customer records and a desire to proactively mitigate internal fraud, the company chose to focus on detecting abnormal user behavior using the extensive logs it already collected.

J:COM conducted threat modeling and, working with partner Macnica Networks, selected Exabeam Advanced Analytics for its flexible log capture, built-in parsers, and machine‑learning UEBA capabilities. A rapid POC and rollout captured the desired events (PC activity, asset logs) without heavy in‑house parser development, delivering improved visibility, internal fraud detection, predictable costs, and a platform they plan to extend for post‑intrusion detection.
