FEMSA Cuts Down on Incident Response Time with Exabeam

FEMSA, a global leader in beverages and retail (including the OXXO chain) operating across 13 countries, needed to modernize its small SOC to protect corporate data centers and critical business units. The team faced legacy systems, difficulty tying events to unique users, an ambitious insider‑threat mandate, and heavy manual work—many scripts and slow, IP‑centric monitoring that made meeting incident‑response SLAs difficult.

FEMSA selected Exabeam’s UEBA/SIEM with SOAR and pre‑loaded machine‑learning models to automate detection, investigation and reporting. The result: average incident‑response time dropped from 74 minutes to about 45 (even 43) minutes, zero‑day detection moved from 2–3 days to same day, automated reports cut network‑analysis time from up to 90 minutes to 8 minutes, ATT&CK coverage grew from 50 to 120 techniques, and the SOC realized measurable cost and efficiency gains.
