Brunel University London Partners With Exabeam to Keep Tabs on Sensitive Data and Protect Intellectual Property

Brunel University London, a public research university with roughly 12,900 students and 2,500 staff, needed to build its first cohesive cybersecurity program amid rising regulatory pressure to protect sensitive data and intellectual property. The university had minimal SIEM capability, limited security maturity, and a constrained budget and headcount, so leaders needed a cost-effective way to elevate operations and get the wider organisation to prioritise security.

Brunel partnered with Exabeam (integrating SIEM, data lake, analytics and automation) to unify telemetry, apply AI/ML behavioral analytics, and speed investigations without growing the team. The solution—deployed alongside Cisco—gave the small SOC a bird’s-eye view and granular insights, cutting investigation time, lowering costs, improving visibility across the environment, and strengthening protection of research data and IP.
