A eWorkOrders Case Study
A major U.S. commercial airport—covering 2,600 acres, handling over 1.1 million passengers annually and subject to FAA Part 139 inspections—was hampered by an aging client-server maintenance system (MP2) that only worked on the internal network. Technicians had to find a workstation to update or close work orders, tenants couldn’t easily report problems, and the airport needed a way to automate and document twice-daily airfield inspections to meet regulatory requirements.
The airport implemented eWorkOrders’ web-based maintenance system and later added a GIS-enabled Airfield Inspections Module. Tenants can submit requests without user administration, technicians use tablets for real-time updates and parts tracking, and automated inspection work orders plus an interactive, location-aware map let inspectors flag issues and generate work orders that remain linked to each inspection for FAA compliance. The result: faster response and closure times, better staff allocation, improved tenant communication, streamlined inspections, and clear regulatory documentation.
