A major European broadcaster faced the challenge of applying privacy and compliance edits, such as blurring designated objects, to its live television streams without introducing any perceptible delay for viewers. Manual editing was not feasible, and any added latency would disrupt the live broadcast experience. To solve this, they engaged Evolve Blue to build a real-time AI video stream platform.

Evolve Blue implemented an AI-driven solution using a pipeline built with YOLO and OpenCV. This platform ingests a live stream, detects objects with computer vision, applies blurring, and reconstructs the output frame by frame. The solution achieved a sub-50ms processing latency with zero dropped frames, making the edits imperceptible. Deployed on an on-premise GPU infrastructure for data sovereignty, the platform provided automatic failover and the scalability to handle multiple concurrent streams.
