Virtua Health detects 6 handguns on day one with Evolv

Virtua Health, a healthcare system, faced a significant challenge in addressing the safety and security of its doctors, nurses, staff, patients, and visitors due to an increase in violence. Following years of feedback from staff who were concerned about active shooter incidents, the organization sought a solution to screen everyone entering its hospital facilities. This led them to partner with security vendor Evolv.

Evolv implemented its Express security screening system across seven emergency department entrances. The solution from Evolv delivered immediate and impactful results, screening an average of 7,500 people daily. On the very first day of deployment, the system detected six handguns, and it went on to identify more than 500 potential threats each month, significantly enhancing security.
