A Evolv Case Study
Cape Fear Community College’s Allan & Laura Wilson Humanities and Fine Arts Center in Wilmington, NC faced slow, intrusive manual bag-and-body checks that required 12 staff, created long queues, and hampered guest experience. As the first college to deploy Evolv, CFCC initially installed two Evolv Edge systems and later sought a touchless, more efficient screening solution—migrating to Evolv Express to reduce staffing needs and improve ingress for patrons.
Evolv deployed two Edge units in 2019, provided site surveys, training (Evolv Academy) and ongoing Customer Success support, and migrated CFCC to a single Evolv Express dual‑lane system with Evolv Insights and mobile access in 2023. The Express implementation reduced screening staff from 12 to 4, increased throughput to about 4,600 guests per hour, cut secondary check time to 10–15 seconds (a ~200% improvement), and has tagged 47 firearms since going live—eliminating queues, increasing concession visits/revenue, and improving overall guest experience.
