Spartanburg School District Five achieves 1.5% alert rate with Evolv

Spartanburg School District Five, serving over 10,000 students, faced the challenge of efficiently managing the arrival process for thousands of students within a short morning window. The district needed a consistent and easy-to-navigate entry solution to accommodate its growing enrollment. To meet this need, the district partnered with Evolv to evaluate and implement new security technology.

Working with Evolv, the district implemented a layered solution using Evolv Express® and later Evolv eXpedite™ for bag screening. This new process improved traffic flow at entrances and became a predictable part of the school day. The implementation by Evolv was highly successful, with over 90% of students feeling neutral or positive about the system and over 90% of staff rating it as user-friendly. Furthermore, the bag screening system at one high school demonstrated an average alert rate of just 1.5% across more than 336,000 screenings.
