Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Creates a Secure Digital Threshold That Bolsters Guest Experiences with Evolv Express® Systems

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, which manages a 14‑block entertainment district welcoming more than 2 million guests annually, faced a post‑pandemic challenge: maintain rigorous weapon detection while eliminating long magnetometer queues and reclaiming cramped entry footprints that forced guests to wait outside in poor weather. After a local proof‑of‑concept, the Trust chose Evolv and its Evolv Express® systems to modernize screening and improve the guest arrival experience.

Evolv deployed five Evolv Express systems (three dual‑lane and two single‑lane) plus Evolv Cortex AI™ and Evolv Insights™ with on‑site configuration and training, enabling touchless, accurate detection and operational analytics. As a result, Evolv helped the Trust recapture as much as 60% of entrance footprint, eliminate outside queues, and expect to reallocate roughly half of the staff previously tied to manual screening (e.g., major venues cut security staffing substantially), while using analytics to predict choke points and produce detailed security reports.
