A Evolv Case Study
Hemet Unified School District, a California K–12 district serving about 22,000 students across 26 campuses, faced slow, intrusive and often biased security screening from walkthrough metal detectors that created long morning lines, caused students to be tardy to first period, and generated high nuisance alarm rates. To modernize screening while preserving student experience and transparency, the district selected Evolv and its Evolv Express systems (with Evolv Cortex AI and Evolv Insights) after hands‑on testing and vendor consultations.
Evolv deployed 11 Evolv Express units (eight single‑lane and three dual‑lane), provided onsite training, updated HUSD’s ConOps, and enabled analytics-driven staffing via Evolv Insights. As a result—according to HUSD—lines and intrusive secondary searches were dramatically reduced, nuisance alarms fell, students stopped being routinely tardy, and staff gained clearer, less biased threat resolution; Evolv’s technology and support were credited with creating a safer, more welcoming start to the school day.
