Georgia Aquarium Transforms Guest Experiences While Improving Security with Evolv Technology

Georgia Aquarium, a major Atlanta attraction with about 2.5 million annual visitors, was dealing with slow, manual magnetometer screening that created long queues, a large lobby footprint, and high staffing demands that hurt guest satisfaction. To modernize screening and make it touchless and higher throughput, the aquarium engaged Evolv, initially deploying Evolv Edge systems and later upgrading to Evolv Express systems with Evolv Cortex AI and professional services from Evolv’s solutions engineering and training teams.

Evolv deployed five Edge units then upgraded to two dual-lane Evolv Express systems, supplied ConOps guidance and staff training, and enabled analytics via Evolv Cortex AI. The result: guest experience scores rose from 4.0 to 4.6, lobby screening footprint was cut by about 50% (eliminating queue space), roughly 50% of screening staff were reallocated to other duties, security staff attrition declined, and the system detects weapons reliably (about 3–5 handguns identified per month) while providing visitor-count and demographic data for operations and marketing — all delivered by Evolv.
