Boston College Deploys Evolv Express® with the Aim of Addressing Student Safety on Campus

Boston College was struggling with long security lines, slow ingress, and staffing challenges at its multiple athletic venues caused by manual bag checks and impractical walkthrough metal detectors. To improve safety and the fan experience, Boston College engaged Evolv and evaluated and then selected Evolv Express® screening technology.

Evolv deployed 15 Evolv Express® systems (eight dual‑lane and seven single‑lane, some ruggedized) alongside Evolv Insights® and Evolv Mobile Carts, with on‑site surveys, staff training, and ongoing support from Evolv engineers and customer success. The result: stadium ingress times fell by more than 50% (football waits reduced from up to 30 minutes to about 10–15, basketball from 15 to under 5), security staffing needs dropped to roughly one‑third of previous bag‑check levels (about two‑thirds fewer personnel), concession and retail spending rose, and Boston College now uses real‑time Evolv Insights analytics and mass‑notification integration with local police to redeploy systems quickly and improve emergency response.
