NAV improves control and reporting for Centacare Ballarat

Centacare Ballarat, a large Catholic social service organisation with more than 220 employees, 13 offices, and 60 cost centres, had outgrown its PC-based accounting software. Its MYOB system could not load budgets by cost centre, struggled with reporting and network performance, and often crashed, making it difficult to meet the strict reporting needs of its government-funded programs. Centacare Ballarat turned to Evolution Business Systems (EBS) for a more robust financial management solution built on Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

Evolution Business Systems (EBS) implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV as the new financials platform, aligning it with Centacare Ballarat’s Microsoft environment and existing SQL infrastructure. The result was a more stable and flexible system with easier budgeting, reporting, and data export to Excel or PDF, while month-end reporting time was cut from 10–12 days to about half that. EBS delivered the project on budget and one month early, reducing implementation time by a third and helping Finance focus more on value-added work.
