Chartwell, a major Canadian operator of retirement residences with 181 locations, faced a challenge in optimizing the management of employee replacements and increasing visibility into staff absences across its large workforce. They sought a solution from vendor Evolia to improve the efficiency of finding replacements and to better understand staffing needs without disrupting their existing software ecosystem.
Evolia implemented its solution with a flexible, phased approach that integrated with Chartwell's current systems. The intuitive platform was quickly adopted by users with varying levels of tech comfort. Key to the solution were Evolia's business rules, which replicated the client's existing HR system, and a train-the-trainer approach that empowered Chartwell's team. During a six-month pilot program involving 3 to 13 residences, the solution was so effective that some pilot communities expanded their use of Evolia to also manage schedules and leave, two of the platform's key components.
