TORM Turns to Production Digitalization to Stay Competitive

Torm Metall, an Estonian manufacturer of aluminum and stainless steel parts and assemblies, wanted to improve production efficiency after discovering that one of its machines was running at only 35% of capacity. Because the team lacked clear data on downtime and OEE, it was difficult to understand why equipment was underperforming or where to start improving. They turned to Evocon and its OEE software to begin digitalizing production and gain better visibility into their workflow.

Evocon helped Torm Metall connect machines for automatic data collection, track downtime causes on touchscreens, and monitor performance across the line in real time. After root cause analysis revealed that one machine was often idle waiting for finished parts to be removed, the company added support staff to handle unloading and loading tasks. As a result, uptime rose from 35% to 70%, effectively doubling output, and Torm Metall now uses Evocon across 12 stations to continuously track and improve production efficiency.
