Running Production Smoothly During the Pandemic

Kalnapilis, a Lithuanian brewery and part of Royal Unibrew, wanted to keep production efficient, transparent, and well organized across a 24/7 operation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the team also needed a safer way to coordinate work without relying on frequent calls and in-person meetings. Evocon’s automated production monitoring system was introduced to support these goals.

Kalnapilis rolled out Evocon gradually, starting with one line and then expanding to shift managers and the wider team, with training and clear communication throughout. The system gave managers real-time visibility into production, OEE-related performance, line status, and staffing needs, which eliminated many calls and meetings and made remote planning much easier. Evocon helped Kalnapilis improve transparency, efficiency, and safety, and these new work practices were described as useful enough to stay after the pandemic.
