Digital Transformation Helps Revitalize Yara Operations

Yara Operations, the Sales and Marketing division of Yara International, wanted to accelerate its lean and digital transformation across 50 blending and bagging terminals in 22 countries. Before using Evocon, production loss and OEE data were collected manually with pen and paper or Excel, making it inconsistent, incomplete, inaccurate, inefficient, and too slow for effective decision-making.

Evocon implemented a simple OEE and production monitoring solution using IIoT devices and sensors on the production lines, sending data to a secure AWS cloud platform for real-time visibility and easier loss recording. The rollout was completed across more than 135 production lines in about 18 months, and Yara Operations reported a 15% average OEE increase in the first year, along with better operator engagement, improved equipment availability, stronger shop-floor communication, and a broader culture shift toward continuous improvement.
