Aims Community College faced a highly manual and time-intensive process for identifying, tracking, and accommodating students with disabilities. Counselors spent an estimated four to five hours per student on tasks that included handwritten note-taking, data entry into Excel spreadsheets, updating a shadow database, and manually generating letters to instructors. Seeking a more efficient solution, the college partnered with vendor Evisions.
Evisions implemented its Argos platform to create a new interface and automated workflow. The solution allowed counselors to input student information directly during appointments, automatically pulling data from and updating the Banner database. A key feature automated the generation of accommodation letters with a single click. This eliminated the shadow database and saved hundreds of hours of staff time, significantly improving service for students and streamlining operations for counselors and IT.
