Reverb - Customer Case Study

Reverb, a leading online marketplace for new, used, and vintage musical instruments, needed to boost purchase activity among its "Power Buyers" by creating an Auto‑Offer tool that could act on sellers’ saved follows. The challenge included high customization requirements—OAuth login to third‑party apps, pulling users’ personal follows and feeds via APIs, a CRON-driven feed refresh, configurable auto‑bid criteria, and logic to ignore listings that already had offers. Evince Development led research, requirement gathering, gap analysis and architecture planning to design a tailored, scalable, and user‑friendly Power Buyer web app.

Evince Development built the Reverb Power Buyer web application (Ruby on Rails, MySQL, GraphQL, deployed on Heroku) with OAuth authentication, third‑party integrations to fetch follows and feed items, a CRON repopulation process, configurable auto‑bid rules, and offer‑filtering to skip already‑offered listings. The solution enabled rapid, selective auto‑offers and streamlined order flows, significantly increasing Power Buyer purchase rates and sell‑through, driving more automated buying and selling activity and faster order confirmations for Reverb.
