The University of Texas and Eviden Take on the Opioid Epidemic Helping Communities Fight Opioid Overdoses With Innovative Data and Digital Tools

The Addiction Research Institute at the University of Texas at Austin faced the challenge of combating the worsening opioid epidemic with outdated, siloed data that prevented an effective real-time community response. They partnered with Eviden to create TxCOPE, a digital platform to provide the timely, aggregated data and scalable reporting system needed to reach those most at risk.

Eviden designed and built the TxCOPE platform, which provides a website and mobile app for real-time overdose reporting as well as dashboards for first responders and researchers. The solution had a measurable impact, saving dozens of lives during a single mass overdose event and has already been used to report over 800 overdoses by 24 participating outreach organizations.
