Azure-based Portero delivers higher efficiency, lower costs and healthcare estimates for CIZ

The Dutch Centre of Healthcare Indications (CIZ) faced the challenge of replacing a business-critical IT system from 1994 that had reached its end-of-life. This outdated system, which involved 17 different databases, could not adapt to legislative changes and lacked scalability. To prepare for upcoming healthcare decentralization, CIZ partnered with Eviden to develop a future-proof digital solution.

Eviden designed and delivered Portero, a new Azure-based system, using a DevOps approach. This solution consolidated the 17 databases into one uniform system and provided scalable, digital process support. The results were significant: CIZ can now implement weekly releases, achieved a 30% reduction in the cost of adding new functionalities, and optimized its IT department resources by up to 50%.
