Old Mutual's Mass and Foundation Cluster Franchise (MFC) sought to surprise and delight its customers while driving registrations for its Old Mutual Rewards program. To achieve this, they partnered with vendor Everlytic to implement a hyper-personalized, automated birthday communication journey using Everlytic's API-triggered transactional messaging infrastructure and Managed Services.

Everlytic implemented a solution that sent personalized emails and Smart SMS messages, with content and calls-to-action tailored to whether a customer was already a Rewards member. This highly targeted approach, which included features like a custom image with the recipient's name, resulted in exceptional engagement. The campaign achieved an open rate of 77.8% and a click rate of 17.6% in some months, which was 2.5x and 3.5x the industry averages respectively.
