How the Indiana Attorney General’s Office Used Everlaw to Ramp Up Their Post-Review Process

The Office of the Indiana Attorney General (OAG) protects Hoosiers by investigating consumer complaints and determining whether a cause of action exists. When the OAG adopted a case-team workflow, their existing discovery platform proved inadequate: no remote access, clumsy exports, inconsistent updates, limited collaborative features, and slow review of mixed PDFs, images, spreadsheets, and transcripts. In 2016 the team adopted Everlaw’s cloud-based platform — including its post-review tools and Storybuilder — to address these gaps.

Everlaw’s solution let OAG teams build and test case theories early, attach evidence to those theories, and complete a case disposition report before drafting filings. As a result the office moved from taking weeks to draft complaints from undifferentiated materials to producing complaints much more quickly, with improved real-time collaboration, seamless cloud deployment (no IT install and automatic updates), and faster onboarding of new law clerks. Everlaw’s post-review features and Storybuilder have measurably accelerated complaint preparation and strengthened the OAG’s ability to vet defensible cases.
