How Washington Federal Improved Financial Capability at a Local Level With EVERFI Technology

Washington Federal, a community-focused bank, wanted to improve financial wellness in the communities it serves while also supporting employee-led outreach and meeting Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) requirements. To do this, it partnered with EVERFI and used EVERFI’s online financial literacy education programs for a variety of audiences, including students and other community members.

With EVERFI, Washington Federal launched the Washington Federal Financial Scholars Program and delivered no-cost financial education to select high schools, especially those serving students from families facing financial strain. The program has reached more than 8,300 students, generated over 37,000 hours of training across 52,000 learning modules, and produced an average 87% improvement in student financial knowledge, while also helping Washington Federal streamline documentation and logistics for CRA compliance.
